ABSTRACT
Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is an inflammatory disease of the paranasal sinuses, which commonly results in chronic sinonasal symptoms. In the United States, 1% to 5% of the population has chronic rhinosinusitis. CRS is defined as 2 or more of 4 cardinal signs and symptoms (i.e., facial pain/pressure, hyposmia/anosmia, nasal discharge [anterior and/or posterior], nasal obstruction) irrespective of previous history of acute rhinosinusitis for a duration exceeding 12 consecutive weeks.[1]
