ABSTRACT

the polymeric nanoparticles of ondansetron hydrochloride were prepared by cross-linking method. The polymeric nanoparticles were evaluated for particle size, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency and percentage in-vitro drug release by linear model. The particle size and entrapment efficiency of the nanoparticle was found to increase with increase the Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP) concentration and decrease the STPP concentration increase the drug release. the optimised concentration for independent variables Chitosan (A) and STPP (B) was found to be 75mg and 0.5% respectively, with a desirability of 0.514 by numerical optimization method. The optimized formulation was the added to buccal patch formulation. Buccal patch was prepared by solvent casting method. The buccal patch was evaluated weight uniformity, folding endurance, thickness, drug content, mucoadhesive strength. Dissolution study, tensile strength, percentage elongation, in-vitro drug release and ex-vivo studies.
