PREPARATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL ANTI LICE HAIR OIL WITH NOURISHING EFFECT

ABSTRACT
The area of pharmacy that works with herbs is called pharmacognosy. Numerous medications are prepared and manufactured using these medicinal plants. In addition, herbs are utilized as flavourings, colouring agents, cosmetic preparation, and bodily beautifying. The primary goal of this study is to prepare and assess herbal anti-lice products with nourishing hair oil utilizing fresh plant parts. The prepared herbal hair oil undergoes physical, chemical, and phytochemical testing as well as general characterisation. The Indian Pharmacopoeia standard was followed in the preparation of the herbal oil. Azadirachta indica and Ocimum tenuiflorum leaves, Annona squamosa seeds, Phyllanthus emblica and Terminalia chebula fruit, and aloe vera are among the herbs included in the formulation. The formulation's anti-lice herbal and nourishing hair oil was evaluated using a number of criteria, including organoleptic characteristics, phytochemical screening, and physical characteristics like viscosity, pH, acid value, saponification value, refractive index, and specific gravity. Additionally, it is tested for forearm skin irritation. It is also evaluated for a stability study. All of the aforementioned criteria were examined and confirmed to be within an acceptable range. To sum up, the prepared herbal hair oil is used to nourish hairs, prevent dandruff and split ends, prevent and eliminate head lice, and provide an alternative to dangerous chemicals.
