BALANITES AEGYPTIACA: THE NATURAL BOTANICAL SOURCE FOR THE TREATMENT OF VARIOUS AILMENTS

ABSTRACT
Balanites aegyptiaca is traditionally used in treatment of various ailments i.e. jaundice, intestinal worm infection, wounds, malaria, syphilis, epilepsy, dysentery, constipation, diarrhea, hemorrhoid, stomach aches, asthma, and fever. It contains protein, lipid, carbohydrate, alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, and organic acid. There are many common names for this plant. In English, the fruit has been called desert date, and the tree soap berry tree or bush, Thorn tree, Egyptian myrobalan, Egyptian balsam or Zachum oil tree; in Arabic it is known as lalob, hidjihi, inteishit, and heglig (hijlij). Balanites Oil is Antimicrobial which is used for perfect for dry, rough, aging, sensitive, or irritated skin, Balanites Oil has rich, antimicrobial healing properties that are scientifically proven to calm and soothe the surface of the skin. The fruits of the desert date contain oil, protein, sugar, vitamins, mineral salts, soap, and diosgenin. The oil is used in the cosmetic industry and is also used in the treatment of rheumatism, as well as some diseases that affect the reproductive system, sex hormones, infertility, and fertility diseases.
