ABSTRACT

Psoriasis is a common, chronic, disfiguring, inflammatory and proliferative condition of the skin, in which both genetic and environmental influences have a critical role.[1] The most characteristic lesions consist of red, scaly, sharply demarcated, plaques present particularly over extensor surfaces and scalp.[1] The disease is enormously variable in duration, periodicity of flares and extent. It has a bimodal age of onset affecting both males and females equally. Psoriasis is of unknown etiology with distinct cutaneous lesions, though a clinical diagnosis is easy to make, is difficult to treat satisfactorily.[1]
