Abstract

AYURVEDA ALONG WITH YOGA: IMPORTANCE IN CURRENT SCENARIO

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda and Yoga, the most ancient medical sciences are the knowledge of life gifted by sages of ancient time. Yoga supports the first aim of Ayurveda i.e. “Swasthsya Swasthya Rakshnam” in its own way. It is understood by the pandemic of COVID 19 which has become a major global challenge especially for the Health sector. The current health care strategies have primarily focused on either the pathogen or on the environment factors. Here, the efforts towards strengthening the host immunity are important from public health perspective to prevent the spread of infection and down regulate the potency of the Agent. Ayurveda and Yoga plays a potential role not only in improving host immunity and reduces the severity of the infection but also helps in rehabilitation after getting treated. During the pandemic, Yoga and Ayurveda played a major role in healing of patients not only physically but also mentally and spiritually too. In present era, dependency over inventions increases day by day which decreases the physical workload from everyone?s shoulder leading to various metabolic disorders such as Obesity, Diabetes etc. Ayurveda and Yoga both act as preventive measures with lifestyle modifications.
