ABSTRACT

The present study was conducted to asses the application of nanofeed on the nutritional and morphometry of fish Catla catla. In the study silver nanoparticles are synthesised by Aloe vera leaf extract which is considered as a medicinal plant all over the world. The syntheis of silver nanoparticles was sucessfully observed by the formation of colourless aqueous solution to reddish brown colour after the 72hrs of incubation period, and UV-VIS spectroscopy also recorded and the spectra showed a maximum absorption peak at a visible range of 300nm. In the present study the normal feed and silver nanoparticles mixed with regular feed were supplemeted to the fishes. The feeding trail was conducted on fish Catla catla for 45 days. In the final day of the experiment weight gain, length gain, specific growth rate showed significance (P >0.05) between normal feed and nanofeed. It is concluded from the present study that the nano feed diet feed fed fishes showed a gradual increase (P < 0.05) in weight gain, length gain and specific growth rate of fishes and also sustained freely in the nano feed environment.
