ABSTRACT

Facial aging begins from the birth and continues thereafter. The rate of progress is affected by genetic, anatomical, and environmental factors. The face consists of three components: the skin, the soft tissue, and the bone supporting the overall shape of a face. The skin is composed of epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue and the epidermis consists of the keratinocyte, which has keratin for a defensive purpose. It is widely known that the decrease of skin elasticity due to an exposure to ultraviolet rays or aging is associated with skin laxity. Moreover, a previous study reported that the facial aging influenced subcutaneous tissues as well as skin.
