Abstract

A REVIEW ARTICLE ON POSITION OF SHAT CHAKRAS AND CO-RELATION WITH ENDOCRINE GLAND IN THE HUMAN BODY

ABSTRACT

The Chakra is very important topic in Ayurveda. There are total 6 chakras are mentioned in ayurvedic texts. They are considered as a key of life energy, or Prana (Shakti), which is thought to flow among them along the Nadis. The name of thr six primary Chakras are Muladhara, Svadhisthan, Manipura, Anahat, Vishuddha and Agya Chakra. In some Indian religions, a chakra (Sanskrit chakra, "wheel") is thought to be an energy point or node in the human body. Chakras are believed to be part of the subtle body, not the physical body.Now a days, there is need to establish the relation between modern science, Yoga and Ayurveda for maintaining good health of an individual. Ayurved and Yoga are codependent sciences which are already present in our day to day practice. Endocrine disorders are commonly seen in the present era. So, to improve the function of endocrine glands, we may follow the knowledge of Shatchakra described in Ayurved samhitas which actually works together as a system to balance physical and mental health of an individual. The effort is made to establish inter relationship of endocrine glands with Shatchakra in Ayurveda.
