ABSTRACT
While defining the cancer from Ayurvedic point of view, it is oftenly concluded that the exact disease of this name is not described in Ayurvedic texts. But analyzing the literature it can be concluded that Acharyas had given such an elucidated picture of cancer with description of Adhyaarbuda[1] and Dwirarvuda1a with elaborations of clinical manifestations of carcinoma with particular organ or roga, no doubt, presentation was very different. But these variations owe to time. In the present paper ayurvedic aetiology of tumour formation along with the drugs available in ayurvedic system of medicine has been elaborately described.
