ABSTRACT
Diabetes Mellitus has emerged as one biggest non communicable disease with various co-morbidities leading to poor quality of life and mortality. With the increasing number of cases and the no proportionate increase in the clinicians, time constraints crush the possibilities of offering better health care to the suffering population. Pharmacist being adequately educated and trained can bridge the gap by offering a variety of non-pharmacological services and augment the pharmacological therapy by being a monitor to the patient. This study was planned to understand the impact if any the pharmacist can have on the clinical outcomes as well as on the lifestyle habits and medication adherence in patients who were on treatment for their diabetes. Personal interviews and questionnaires were the data collection instruments and the data was analysed using students t test or ANOVA from SPSS version 17 package over a period of 10 months with baseline and 3-4 following visits.
